Dear CDC families, caregivers and community partners,
We hope that you have all had a chance to experience some of the beauty that comes with living in the Yukon over our warm summer months!
Over the winter, our downtown Whitehorse location was greatly impacted by the extreme snowfall, which resulted in significant leaking. The Child Development Centre, which is a non-profit organization, leases the building from the Yukon Government. While undertaking work to repair the damage, some issues were identified that will need immediate attention. The Yukon Government has just informed us that due to the extent of the issues, we will need a new working space for this program year. Please see more information from the Yukon Government in the About Us section of our website: Important Information from Yukon Government about CDC Building.
While we are facing a few weeks of uncertainty as we determine where our temporary physical location will be, your CDC team will be working hard and will get in touch with you as soon as they can to make a plan on how to best support you and your child. We will continue to keep our clients updated through our email distribution list, our Facebook page, our website and through direct contact with your child’s CDC team. If you have any concerns regarding the building, please refer to the contact information provided by the Yukon Government on the attached letter. If you have any questions about your child’s services, please reach out to a member of your team or call 456-8182 to connect with a member of our management team.
We appreciate your patience as we do our best to continue to meet the needs of children and families during this challenging time.
