We are hiring!

We are very excited that our proposal to Jordan's Principal to increase services for Indigenous children in Whitehorse and four rural communities has been approved!  So now we are hiring for four positions that start on August 18, 2020.  Please email or fax resumes to Alayne Squair: alayne.squair@cdcyukon.ca or 867-393-6374. Speech-Language Pathologist

Two positions:

1. Full-time, term (37.5 hours/week) from August 18, 2020 - March 31, 2022

2. Full-time, term from August 18, 2020 - March 31, 2021 and then part-time (26.25 hours/week) from April 1, 2021 - March 31, 2022

CDC is closed for two months in the summer, position has a break in service during this time

Excellent opportunity to join the professional team of the Child Development Centre, which provides quality early intervention services to children birth – 5 years of age throughout the Yukon. Responsibilities include assessment, consultation and treatment for children with a wide variety of needs. Travel to rural communities is required.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology and eligibility for membership in SAC
  • Experience working in a cross-cultural setting
  • Experience working with young children with developmental needs and families
  • Experience with feeding and fluency is an asset
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

Salary Range:

Salary range is $37.82 - $46.01 per hour depending on qualifications and experience.

This position is covered by the Public Service Alliance of Canada Collective Agreement.

Developmental Therapist

 Full-time term position (37.5hours weekly)

Starting August 18, 2020 and ending March 31, 2022

CDC is closed for two months in the summer, position has a break in service during this time

Excellent opportunity to join the professional team of the Child Development Centre, which provides early intervention services to children birth – 5 years of age. Working as part of a team, responsibilities include conducting formal and informal assessment, interventions and follow-up with children and their families in the areas of general development, social and emotional development and play. Provides counselling to parents related to child and/or child-parent relationships. Travel in Yukon is required.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant master’s degree, including course work in counseling.
  • Experience working in a cross-cultural setting
  • Experience working with young children with developmental needs and families
  • Knowledge of assessment and intervention strategies in the area of social-emotional and behavioural development
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

Salary Range:

Salary range is $37.82 - $46.01 per hour depending on qualifications and experience.

Administrative Assistant

Part-time term position, August 18, 2020 – June 15, 2021

Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8 – 4:30

Excellent opportunity to join the administrative team of the Child Development Centre, which provides quality early intervention services to children birth – 5 years of age throughout the Yukon.

Responsibilities

  • Creates a warm and friendly atmosphere for families and visitors;
  • Directs calls and completes referrals over the phone;
  • Collects and inputs data into electronic files;
  • Provides administrative support to program staff, including basic technical support for computers; and
  • Creates and maintains documents using MS-Word, Outlook, Publisher, Excel and internet applications.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma or certification as administrative assistant
  • Experience working in an office setting
  • Experience working in a cross-cultural setting
  • Excellent oral/written communication and organizational skills

Salary Range:

Salary range is $25.38 – $30.88 per hour depending on qualifications and experience.
