Physiotherapists

Physiotherapists look at how a child moves and what movement or lack of movement may result in problems. We work closely with families and caregivers to find ways for children to learn to control their bodies for getting around and participating in physical activities.

Things we can help with may include:

  • Rolling, sitting, crawling, walking, jumping, kicking, and catching
  • Posture and alignment
  • Strength, balance, and coordination
  • Orthopedic concerns such as head shape, foot alignment, and walking patterns
  • Physical fitness
  • Pain in joints or muscles
  • Choosing and adjusting specialized equipment needed to participate in home and community activities

Our physiotherapists are licensed under the Health Professionals Act with the Yukon Territorial Government.  This membership requires a Masters of Science in Rehabilitation Medicine or an equivalent qualification.
